We’re getting excited about heading to Colorado in Two Weeks for the Renaissance Festival. By “we” I mean myself, Adam, Travis, and the dogs. But, it’s a little early to be packing, so we’re just hanging around. We sat out on the porch chatting this afternoon, and I insisted on taking photos of everyone.
Here’s me and Adam:
We’re approaching our 9th anniversary! I’m an ex-librarian with a theatre degree and a lot more costuming experience than I would have imagined I would have. Adam has been a mechanic, a special-ed Para, a bread baker, and he was good at all of those things. However, none of them were writing and composing which is what he really wants to do.. We’re looking forward to having time to do the things we really enjoy. We’re happier right now than we have been in a long time, and we haven’t even started adventuring yet.
This is Travis:
A friend who decided his life could use a little adventure, too. He is also an ex-librarian, but don’t let that mild-mannered exterior fool you. He can kick your butt. (In this way he reminds me of Skinner in the “X-Files. I guess that makes Adam and I Mulder and Scully. This metaphor could go on for a while, but I’ll leave it there.)
We all have a lot of fun sitting around having interesting conversations with each other. And petting the dogs:
This is Jack. He is a 9-year-old Aussie/Red Heeler mix. He is paranoid about thunder and being abandoned. He likes to snuggle a lot, and is often found curled up in corners, or alternately on my pillow.
This is buster. Obviously the ornery one. He’s turning 6 this month. He’s an Aussie/Border Collie mix which means that he is too smart for his own good, and very energetic. But he is endlessly loyal, and though he really could care less whether you snuggle him, he does like to sit on our feet and get a good scratch.
This is our little community so far. Next week, we’ll join up with Adam’s sister and start adventuring. It’s probably good to have this week to just breathe- I’m going to be packing like crazy next week!
